The Name
The name, “St. Barnabas Harvest Ministries” is a reference to Acts 11 where we read that Barnabas was sent to Antioch from Jerusalem to encourage the young church. It is said he encouraged those who already believed and brought many to the Lord. Barnabas is described as a man full of the Holy Spirit and Faith. The word, “Harvest” in the name reflects a number of references (eg. John 4.35; Luke 10.2) in the Gospels wherein Jesus says calls the disciples to go and proclaim the Good News, saying, ‘The fields are white unto harvest.’
